Chartered Institute of Building Service Engineers (CIBSE)

CIBSE members are required by the Code of Professional Conduct to maintain professional competence. The Institution provides clear guidance and support for professional development, enabling members to develop in your career. CIBSE provides an online CPD section which allows members to plan and track their CPD activities and does not stipulate a minimum number of CPD hours.

Energy Institute (EI)

The Energy Institute offers Chartered Energy Manager and Chartered Environmentalist status. Members are firmly encouraged to undertake a wide range of activities as a learner, teacher or mentor to complete their professional development.

Energy in Buildings & Industry (EiBI)

EiBI follow guidance with the Energy Institute, and provide reading materials towards doing CPD. Those who read these can request a CPD Certificate from the Energy Institute.

Institute of Environmental Management and Assessment (IEMA)

At IEMA there is a mandatory requirement to complete regular CPD hours for annual membership renewal. It’s good practice to plan and record CPD, so the IEMA requires members to keep a record and

submit it once a year.

Institution of Gas Engineers and Managers (IGEM)
